Teaching Artist & Educator 

I have a Masters degree in Applied Theatre from CUNY SPS and a Bachelor of Arts from Rutgers University Newark (Art History ). I have been working as a teaching artist for over 3 years and began this exciting journey with Living Voices, through their production"Island of Hope" which discusses immigration and oppression. Through facilitation I make connections to modern times and highlight that despite our backgrounds, we have a lot more in common with one another  than what we might think. I also have the pleasure of  working with New York City Children's Theatre. With NYCCT I perform in their bilingual musical "Cinco," which teaches children about the five senses with the help of my puppet friend, Piper from Planet Blank! Through NYCCT I do programs in shelters, transitional housing and anti bullying initiatives all while using theatre in a practical and educational way.

In early 2024 I began working as a museum educator with Newark Museum of Art where I teach and work with students of all ages. As a museum educator I assist students whilst they learn about art history and stand as a guide to all the ways they can appreciate what the museum (and art history) has to offer through educational tours and studio projects.

My focus as an educator is to encourage my students/participants to use their personal stories and celebrate their identities (and that of others) in the hope that doing this will allow them to become more comfortable with sharing every aspect of themselves unapologetically. I have found that this approach encourages others to listen and realize the similarities we have to others outside of our community. I dive into this further with my thesis "The 'My Story' Project: A Celebratory Journey in Unmasking the Power of Identity and Personal Story in the Arts."

I have extensive experience writing and creating curriculum and lesson plans and would be more than willing to assist you in this venture. 

My work as a teaching artist and educator come in handy in and out of the theatre realm and as a lover of museums and art, I am well equipped to assist museum staff in presenting their works in a fun and educational manner.
